Mat 1 forms the foundation of Pilates and focuses on teaching you the full repertoire of Pilates Mat exercises. Mat pilates certification course covers essential movement principles, allowing you to adapt exercises for a range of clients.

The Mat 1 course is designed for anyone interested in mat pilates teacher training. However, taking the Movement Principles course and having 6 months of experience teaching movement and anatomy is recommended.

You’ll learn advanced mat exercises, effective mat program structuring, enhanced cueing skills, and assessment and outcome measurement techniques. You’ll also discover how to set up an optimal class environment and integrate small equipment.



The recommended prerequisites are completing Movement Principles, attending 10 mat classes, and having 6 months of teaching experience in movement and anatomy.
